Germany – Dürr will provide automotive body-in-white gluing technology to the Volkswagen Group. The Application Technology division will install 520 automatic gluing systems at Audi in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, and the VW plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, by the end of 2014.
The gluing systems ordered by Audi will be used for the body construction of the A4, A5 and Q7 models. Gluing is used for insulating and sealing, but primarily for joining body components. The core components of the Dürr gluing systems are the dosing system, application head, adhesive pump and control technology.

The application head is positioned with the aid of a robot.
